A Decade of Love: Titan’s game-changing flagship

A space worthy of to be called a flagship store.. Basketball-lifestyle retailer Titan opens a new horizon of possibilities thru its latest flagship store at One Bonifacio High Street, BGC. 10 years in the retail game, the new space will feature state of the art products that will reinforce Manila’s love for basketball and streetwear.

Known locally for activations showcasing basketball and Philippine street culture, Titan made its way globally with collaborative efforts with Nike, atmos, SBTG, Jason Markk and Pigalle. To support its homegrown DNA, Titan has also collaborated with local brands such as THE Clothing and Egg Fiasco.

Last weekend I had the chance to visit the store to share its products, services, and overall design language. Photos and images by Kevin Carlos. First seen on Fatlace dot com

Visiting the flagship is a full experience. I believe that the best brick and mortar stores can cater to most of the 5 basic human senses.

Brand communication. Known for deep storytelling in events and online, Titan continues its tradition through the store’s concierge – briefing the guests regarding its products and services.

The Blueprint. As for the design of the store, Titan commissioned Jagnus Design Studio. Jagnus caters to residential, commercial, interior architecture and furniture design. To add, the firm was also responsible for the design of Ronac Art Center – Bigboy Cheng’s Main HQ.

The store embodies modern Filipino architecture – from the colors to the choice of wood. The brand and the design firm clearly communicated the ethos of Philippine basketball through its paintings and art pieces.

The Barbershop. With numerous branches across town, the flagship carries its original concept of having a barbershop integrated with a basketball lifestyle store.

As a standard procedure for crowd control due to COVID-19, store visits (including haircuts) are strictly by appointment. You may want to check their social media accounts for updates. Their page grants access to a draw for available timeslots throughout the week.

On Demand. On the spot t-shirt printing will soon be available. The shirt (upper right *black), features the original “Titan 22” logo which was designed by Mark Ong of SBTG.

22” pays homage to the basketball jersey number of Philippine Basketball Association legend, Jeffrey “The Jet” Cariaso. As one of the brand’s founding partners, the Jet helps in mounting yearly summer camps to inspire the youth.

Products. Being a Nike Tier Zero basketball store, Titan continuously releases products that fall under this category. A few weeks ago, the Union x Jordan 4 collection were made available in our shores. For this week, the brand focused on the latest Fragment collaborative drop.

Last year, Titan released its LeBron James 16 Low “Agimat” collaboration at atmos con. Through a pop-up space in Shibuya, collaborative tees with the Japanese sneaker chain were released.

Here are some of the shirts the brand produces. Some are from the Titan Artist Series program – a monthly capsule collection re-envisioned by different artists.

Store-exclusive tees are also made available only for the flagship.

Sketches of their logos, collaborative efforts and its original store in Burgos Circle can be found near the fitting room.

Attention to detail. With deep roots in the local basketball scene, the brand has managed to have “secured” several collectibles.

MJ1998.

A good number of Jordans customized by SBTG were on display.

Mags… Possibly the most unique piece in the room. Please take note that these are only for display purposes.

Collect Everything.. Here’s a photo of the wall full of collectibles.

A decade of love for the local culture paying off. Congratulations to Titan for creating a whole new retail experience in Manila.. More features to come soon.
