The Hellaflush x Stance Pilipinas Meet

2017. The Encore.

“This wraps up part 1 of this recap post, stay tuned as I highlight another set of builds/photographers for part 2.” these were some of my words I ended up my post for January’s Slammed Society X Stance Pilipinas meet. Never had I expected that a part 2 recap would entirely feature a different collaborative meet. The conceptualization for a take two started late February with the help of Illest Philippines/The Rail, as we’ve decided to elevate the gathering by adding a proper program flow and securing an entire parking lot.

Last April 7, Stance Pilipinas / Manila Fitted and Fatlace / Illest / The Rail joined forces for Hellaflush Manila at Vista Mall Sta. Rosa. Check out the photos/meet recap below. Photos and images by Kevin Carlos. First seen on Fatlace dot com

After a few meetings,  we’ve decided that the special meet needs a close door parking lot – so we could basically have all the slammed cars parked side-by-side. A one-hour trip away from Metro Manila takes you to Vista Mall, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, a strategically placed community mall on the main highway.

I have to admit that I was quite hesitant if we could match January’s reception within the meet since it was the last Friday before Holy Week, plus car meets best scheduled during weekends or even Wednesdays. Well, I guess I was wrong..

We started the meet “roll-in” at 4PM. For the past 5 years we encourage that owners come in their own time convenience.

The Collaboration.

To make the gathering a bit more special, Mark and I decided to design collaborative memorabilia for the meet. Mark envisioned a shirt showcasing the original tagline of the Hellaflush movement “Offset Is Everything“.

With Mark’s design looking super fresh, I decided to take time and proper inspiration in designing a sticker/meet poster that would reflect the Philippines, SPMF, and Hellaflush and its history being connected together. Here’s my personal favorite among all 4 stickers, a design inspired by my first Fatlace product sticker back (Hellaflush LA) in 2010. This was at a time that I knew no one personally from the Fatlace Crew and had it shipped all the way from the Paddock. The design takes cues from the Philippines’ finest beaches, the Manila Bay sunset, Rizal Park, Manny Pacquiao’s signature Manila Ice punch, and the Philippine National Eagle. To add, several details that reflect SPMF’s early years as a community (slammed Jeepney and Sampaguita) are included too.

Despite the traffic warnings that day, several high-performance builds also joined us.

The transition of flush/slammed vehicles with a hint of performance.

As a group, SPMF focuses on slammed/flush/lowered/fitted vehicles. But at the end of the day, it’s always down to appreciating different styles in car customization, as lately we have been seeing performance-oriented builds too.

My good friend Takashi Mori from Tokyo is recently based in the Philippines for business. Thanks for dropping by Takashi-San!

The Cars.

I’ve never seen a good number of MKIV Supras in one day. What’s good about this meet is that I had time to hang out and take photos too. I guess time management is really working well lately!

The Fun.

After the 20-shirt raffle headed by our friends at The Rail (15 Illest shirts/5 SPMF shirts), we proceeded to the “stance-limbo competition”. Basically, with a light and relaxed ambiance, the limbo was mounted to be a finale to cap-off the long day with a smile in our faces.  Thanks to our friends from Static Crew, the set-up was and “competition” proper was done in no time.

After more than 13 hours of non-stop walking, the meet was a wrap resulting into familiar smiles and ‘byes.

The Community.

Check out some of the photos from several photographers, I will be also adding more soon plus the meet’s video link. Feel free to send in your coverage link.

“SPMF is not only about the fitment scene rather its the foundation we built through our passion for vehicles. You are Stance Pilipinas.

More than just cars, the meet wouldn’t be complete without the community’s camaraderie in these types of events. Special thanks to Mark Arcenal (4 meets in 4 years!), Wendell Cunanan, The Rail / Illest Philippines, Manila Fitted’s core group, Eightdecals, and to each one of you who joined us showcase what the Philippines has to offer. I hope you enjoyed the meet as much as we did.

After years of visualizing and countless of hours planning, Hellaflush x Stance Pilipinas is a wrap. Be right back soon with coverage from SPMF’s Summer Meet on the 23rd of April.
